Warden's Cotjkt
(Before 11. W. Robinson, Esq., Warden.) Police v. Crickmore. —Charge of carrying on business without being the holder of a business license. As it appeared that Crickmore had, previously to the hearing, taken out a business license, a mitigated fine of £2 was inflicted, with lis. costs. Carl Lewels v. Martin Landrebe.— Claim for £25, on a mining partnership account. After a lengthened bearing, judgment was given for £23 12s. Bd., and ,Bs. costs.
- Ancell v. Robinson and Others. —Claim •for wages. > It appeared that only two out of throe of the defendants had been served with summonses, and the ease was adjourned tillrNoTemlx'r 31st. The application qf , J. Prater, be allowed to construct bye-washes along the line of his rape, was objected to by Howe
and Others, owners of a race at a lower level. Four (4) bye-washes were granted unconditionally, and three (3) others subject to the rights of the objectors. The following applications were granted: —J. Prater, tail race, head race, two dams, and extended claim; Cooper and Smith, two water races, extended claim, and dam; Howe and others, tail race, dam, and additional water; Aitcheson and others, dam; Eeid and another, extended claim, Woolcott, two dams.
The following applications were refused or withdrawn : —A. Riach, tail race and extended claim; Power and Preston, tail race. The calendar, after a lapse of two months, was necessarily a very heavy one, no less than thirty-six oases of different descriptions having to be dealt with by the Warden.
