JOCKEY CLUB MEETING.
A meeting of the Mount Ida Jockey, Club was held in George's Victoria Hall, on the evening of Monday last, Mr. W. Inder (President) in the chair. The Hon. Secretary (Mr. E. T. George) read the minutes of the previous meeting, which were confirmed.
The Chairman stated the object of the meeting to be the electing of a Committee, and to make arrangements for the approaching annual meeting of the Club, which had been already published to take place on Wednesday and Thursday, the 10th and 11th January 1872. The following gentlemen were elected to solicit subscriptions in aid of the funds of the Club :—Naseby : Messrs. Millar, Chapman, George, and Grumitt. —Hyde: Messrs. Laverty, Connolly
and O'Neill.—Hamilton and Sowburn •' Messrs. Bromner, Foster, and Brown. —Macraes :—Mr. Luks —Hills Creek: Messrs. Inder and Johnstone. —St. Bathans and Welshmans : Messrs. M'Phail and Morgan.— lda Valley: Messrs. Lautour and Douglas.—Kyeburn Diggings: Messrs. Morgan, Slorach, and Cook. Clarks: Messrs. Gogarty and Greer.—Pigroot: Mr. Burgess Dunedin : Messrs. Dodson and Walters.
The Treasurer (Mr. J. Thomson) stated that the balance at present in hand in favor of the Club was £127 5s 6d.
The programme for the forthcoming race meeting was then considered and decided upon, and the following gentlemen were appointed stewards:—Messrs J.A.Douglas, J. Laverty, W. Itider, C. A. de Lautour, E. "T. George, W. Grum.'tt, T. Foster. Judge, Mr. H. W. J£ubins<oii; starter, Mr. W. Inder; clerk of the course, Mr. E. T. George.
