I C, the Undersigned Representatives of the respective Water Race Companies hereafter mentioned, failing to obtain Protection for our Head Races, Dams, etc., hereby agree together, for our mutual protection, to the following Regulations: 1. We bind ourselves not to supply water to any party or parties to enable them to work any ground in the vicinity of any dam or head race, so as to endanger the said dam or head race, under a penalty of twenty-live pounds (£25) stg. for each offence. 2. That three persons shall be appointed from representatives of the said Companies, to determine how near to any dam or head race any ground may be worked with safety —their decision in all cases to be binding. 3. These Regulations to be binding on all parties thereto for the term of three years, commencing from this day* ■ the 24th day of October, 1871,'"and terminating on the 2Jrd day of October, 1874. PUBLIC NOTICE, Under Section i. of Regulation iv. j IIERE.VS 1 have received sufficient proof that the portion of the Otago Goldfield, described in the schedule hereto, is for the whole or the greater part of au inferior character as regards the value of its gold deposit* : Now, therefore, I hereby give notice, that the same may be occupied by holders of Miners' Rights in claims of the undermentioned size, viz.:— One (I) Acre for each Holder of a Miner's Right, provid d that no block claim thall comprise more than six (6) Acres altogether.
