THE SLUDGE CHANNEL.
The following communication from Mr. Warden Kobinson, iu reply to an application made by a number of gentlemen to construct a sludge channel at their private expense, will, fr e l sure, be read-with satisfaction and will convince the people that tf e matter has not been allowed to sleep, bul that the Government will be kept, up io their work. A reply, makiug spee.fic proposals, lias we understand been agreed to by the gentlemen proposing to f»rm the company, and will be forwarded to Mr. Robinson in time for transmission to the Government bv Monday's post: Warden's Office, Nasebv, July 1, 1871, Gentlemen, —T have the honor to infor>n you that your letter of 22ud ult., making proposals for the construction of a Sludge Olia* ael at Naseby, has been this day returned to me with a memorandum of the Executive C : o'i..cil, as follows:—" resolved—That they be requested to make a definite offer.' 1
I have therefore to request that you will endeavor to put your proposal in an explicit form. I h*ve the houor, &c., H. W. Roßi.v&osf. Warden. Messrs. Hunter, Shannon and others, Naseby.
