Benjamin Padzctt was charged, on the information of Constable Morton, wifcli selling liquor without a license, ut his house, 011 tlio road between St. Bathans and Hill Greelc. The nal<* being proved, lie was fined £lO and costs 7s. Gd., and 2As. expenses of one witness.
Lefevre was charged with the same offence, and the case being proved lie was fined £lo,ai,id 7s (id. costs, awl 375. expenses of two witnesses. In each of these cases the Magistrate allowed fourteen days for pay. meat; in default, one mouth's inipri. Bonment. He observed that lie hadj dealt leniently \vith these cases, but taat, in the event of a second eon vie-, tion against either of the parties, it would be bis duty to be severe.
