CORRESPONDENCE.
HAMILTON.
(To the Editor of the Mount Ida Chbonicle.) Sib, —Tour correspondent here has given you a piece of news that took some of us by surprise. We have long looked at some of his statements, especially those about so great an extent of good ground near the Sowburn and surrounding neighborhood, but there is in his epistle to you last week something that we cannot understand. Would he be so kind as to say which of the parties belonging to the Cornish Company offered the " very handsome price" for the United Race. We never have envied the present owner of his bargain, and we hope he is not so anxious to part with so valuable a property as your correspondent would make the public believe. I can assure you, Mr. Editor, that the United or any other company that think they can better themselves by coming to the Shepherd's Hut, are quite welcome to come and try, for we have no wish to debar anyone from coming here. We must now thank your correspondent for his advice. He has taken great interest in our welfare by pointing out the United Race as the best property we could invest in. Doctor's differ.- —I am, <fcc., Alex. Nicholas; (Of Cornish Co.) Hamilton, Nov. 10.
