THE UNION CHURCH.

(To the Editor of the Moron? Ida Chboxicle.) appears to be something almost irreverent in s übmifcting rel£ gious topics to discussion in a public paper. Y&t, circuinstances occasionally arise which can be brought before the public in no other way. This, then, must be my apology for taking a step I should otherwise condemn.

The above Church has hitherto been managed by a committee elected by the congregation ; trustees being appointed from their number to represent the property. If rumor be correct, they have now assumed a position which was never conferred, and adopted measures ignoring the committee from whom they hold their appointment. If they would condescend to afford me information on the following points, many persons besides /your °humble servant will be grateful, and perhaps have their minds set at rest about what now appears very suspicious': 1. Who authorised them to purchase tlie site on which the' Church now stands ?

2. Who authorised them to draw the Church funds from the bank without the knowledge of the committee (bv whom all accounts hitherto have been audited and passed before payment) ? 3. How do they justify the charge they are now enforcing for rent against J. Burehett, in defiance of the decision made by the Committee about two years since—same not beino- rescinded ? —I am, &c., ° Enqfibeb.
