MOUNT IDA DISTRICT SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The usual monthly meeting of "the Mount Ida District School Committee -was held at Mr. 13. B. Millar's on Wednesday evemng~last. Tr3sent:—Bev. Mr. Burchett (chairman), Messrs. Millar, teed, Bleach, Brookes, Lannan,«md Bbttinir. J.he minute's, of- last., meeting were confirmed. •„ ■• .. °, : ,- ■ < Eesolved—" That Mr. D. 8.. Miliar be requested to audit the accounts." ' The blank forms furnished by Mr. Hislop, for completing financial'statement, were ordered io bWorwarded to Mr. Petchell, with a request that the same might be filled in and returned't'o the Committee before the 10th inst < Eesolved the. minute" book that Mr. Petchell Las neglected to furnish the usual monthly report to the Committee; and also, that the Committee were unable to hold" their meeting in the school room on Monday last, and. also on the present occasion, in consequence of Mr. Petchell having absented himself from bis house with the key of the School room in his possession." Eesolved regard Mr. Hislop's statement 'that the action of the Committee did not meet with the approval of the people and parents generally' as a gratuitous insult, inasmuch as the Committee volunteered to afford Mr : Hislop an opportunity of eliciting the opinion of the parents and the public generally by calling a public meeting for "that purpose, which offer Mr. Hislop declined to accept; and that a copy of this resolution be , for warded to the Educational Board." .
The meeting then adjourned till: six o'clock p.m. on Monday next.
