A "cricket match took .place on Saturday last betweenv the Wellington CJub and the officers 5 of 'the G-alatea, and was'won by the former in one innings and 25 runs. A number of the Waitotara who were lately-with Tito iiowaru, have come /down the Wanganui river in canoes, "to Putiki, close to the town of Wanganui. Mr. Booth and the Eriend-.lies-have taken.them under their protection, an act which has aroused the indignation of the Wanganui papers. It is,said that these known rebels intend to claim compensat'iohfrom the Grovernjinent' for- the property belonging to them up the river, which was destroyed Iby our troops. 1
