WEDDING.
FRANCIS—SCOTT. A wedding of local interest, was celebrated at All Saints-’ Church, Palmerston North, last evening, when Annie Dyer (Nnncyo), eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Scott, of -Ngatn Street, Palmerston North, was married to Alton Lavers, third son of Mr. and Airs. If. Francis, Thymic Street, Foxton. The church had been charmingly decorated by girl friends of the bride and .the ceremony was performed by Rev. Canon G. Y. Woodward. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a dainty period frock of ivory erepe-dc-chinc. The ankle-length skirt was composed of frills and the bodice bad a bertha collar and long sleeves pointed over the hands. Tier embroidered tulle veil was held to her head with three hands of orange blossom, with clusters of the blossom behind the ears, and fell in soft folds to form a train. She wore ivory satin court shoes with diamante buckles and carried a sheaf of Christmas lilies and sweet peas. There were three bridesmaids in attendance, Miss Arna Monnie, of ITataitai, Wellington (chief), Miss .lean Francis, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss .June Scott, sister of tbc bride. All three wore frocks fashioned in the same style as that of the bride, in blue, green and pink georgette respectively. They wore caps of silver lace, silver shoes and stockings and carried bouquets of sweet, peas, roses and maiden-hair fern. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. Alan Scott, brother of the bride. Mr. Erie Metcalfe and Air. Keith Aletcalfe ollieiated as groomsmen. Following the ceremony it reception was held in All Saints’ Girls’ ■Club room, whore streamers, sweet pons and larkspur, toning with the bridal party, made artistic decoration. ATr. am! Airs. Scott received the guests, the latter wearing a -hois do rose crepe do chine frock with cream georgette jabot and cuffs and hat and shoes to tone, She also wore a coni of navy sill, mnroeain and carried a bouquet of African daisies, roses and maidenhair fern. Airs. Francis, mother of the bridegroom, wore ai ensemble of navy crepe de chine with a. navy hat, and she carried ; 'bouquet of cream roses and maidenhair fern. After the usual toasts am • happy speeches, dancing was enjoyed to panafrope music and dan ecs played by several of tin | guests.
