PRESBYTERIAN SUNDAY SCHOOL
The annual social and prize giving was held on Tuesday. There was a. full attendance of scholars and parents, the evening being spent in games, musical and elocutionary items. After supper the prizes were distributed as follows: — Infant Section. —Each scholar received a prize but four, George Hughes, Tommy Thomson, Beverley Barron and Gene Fraser, who bad attended- over 30 .Sundays, were given a special prize. Junior Girls. —Ist prize Zeno Fraser, 2nd Gwen Yardley, 3rd Shirley Barron, Ith Kathleen Shaw. Junior Boys.—lst Lyndon Knewst üb, 2nd Noel Whitehead, 3rd Walter Judd. 4th Douglas Clark. „ Senior Boys. —Ist lan Nicholas, 2nd Douglas Speirs and Allan Judd, 3rd Clarence Knewslub. Special Prize. —Junior Girls’ B.C. Essay: Ist Audrey Barron, 2nd Joan Barron, highly commended, Joan .Mason, .Mary Thymic, Ula Thomson. Assembly Examinations. —Zona Fraser, Gwen Yardley, Shirley Barron, lan Nicholas. Young Worshippers’ League.— Ula. Thomson, Myrtle Hughes, Alan Judd, Walter Judd, lan Nicholas, Tommy Thomson. Mr. Nicholas briefly addressed the parents asking for-.their con--1 inued co-operation and increased interest. He thanked those who had so generously assisted to make the occasion successful lay donations of cash and hooks. The ■(iiantity of prizes would have been very much limited without their kind assistance. The singing of a hymn by the children closed a pleasant evening. Donations were received from the following: Misses Speirs, Patterson, McEwen, S'tevenson, Mesdames .Fraser, A. Ross, Whitehead and Messrs J. K. ITornblow, Judd, i(. Speirs, Clarke, and many others.
