OCTOBER M’OII KING. 'l’lie following report was submilled to last night’s Borough Council meeting: — The amount of gas manufactured during the month of October was ;i(>2,oooft. which with the nnioiint in the holder on October Ist 17,000 ft. made a total of 370,000 ft. During the month 278,000f1. was used by consumers, 2-B,oooft. at the works and there was 1/,500ft. in the holder on October 31st, making a total of! 323,500 ft. accounted for and leaving 55,500 ft. representing 4.0 per cent, unaccounted for. Thirty-two tons lile.wt. <>L coal were carbonised, yielding 10,880 (.ft. of gas to the. ton and producing 0 tons lOewt. of coke.

The receipts for the month totalled £155 13/7 and were made, up as follows:—Gas sales (lighting) £l7 17/-, heat and power £IOB 18/1, coke sales £0 1/11, tar sales S/-, weighting 5/0, services and fittings £2O 5/3, miscellaneous £! 17/10.

The expenditure for the month totalled £222 13/5 and was made up as follows: — Goal £92 13/0, salaries and wages £4O, services and fittings £3 15/2, meters £2O 12/9, repairs £2 4 /<), Interest and Sinking Fund £(53 7/3.
