BOISTEROUS WEATHER.
The weather since yesterday has been very stormy. Strnog westerly gales accompanied Jjy heavy rain and hail have been experienced. Tbe weather conditions have interfered with shearing oper.iI ions and fruit trees have been damaged. ACCESS TO BEAiCiii BLOCKED. Owing’ to tbe boisterous nature •of the weather during the past lew days, the spring tides have been backed up by the strong westerly gales to such an extent as to make access to the beach except by tbe Sanutorduu Bead impossible. Residents report that conditions at tbe seaside liave been very unpleasant and that tbe tides have been exceptionally bigb, reaching right up Co the houses along the foreshore. Children attending school and others wishing to go ‘front one part of the beach to the other have been compelled to keep to tne sandhills at the rear of the bouses. Vehicular access has only been possible by means of the Sanatorium Bond which is very rough and not metalled.
