IMPERIAL CONFERENCE ENDS.

London, Nov. 14. The Imperial Conference ended in a cordial atmosphere and assurances that it had been helpful fo all parties. The speeches wore, mainly felicitous, Mr. Scullin emphasising that the intricacies of the economic issues required a longer time than was available. He plumped outright for the adoption of the wheat quota. Mr. Forbes, though disappointed that there had been no development of preference, said that New Zealand had no quarrel on that score. He believed that the ground had been prepared for future developments.

A voluminous summary of the proceedings confirms the previous messages concerning the Conference decisions as to the Singapore Base, the retention of existing preference, examination of the wheat quota, and an Economic Conference at Ottawa in 1931.
