SALE OF TOMATO PLANTS.

WARNING TO RETAILERS.

Mr. .). W. Whelan, Government Orchard Inspector visited Fpxton on Saturday in regard to a complaint received bv the Department that tomato paints were being retailed locally from other than registered nurseries. In conversation with our representative, Mr. Whelan stated that no tomato plants could be sold unless they came from a registered nursery and persons offering such plants for sale made themselves, liable to prosecution. Shop keepers and others who offered tomato plants for sale should be careful to ascertain from whence they come as by selling plants from any source other than a registered nursery they laid themselves open to prosecution.
