TWO YOUNG LIVES LOST.

Auckland, Nov. 14. “Two more young lives have been thrown away through this excessive craze for speed,” commented the Coroner, Mr. Hunt, S.M., at the inquest into the deaths of William Anthony Wyvill Thompson, aged 20, and Florence 11. McDonald, aged 16, who died from injuries received following a collision between a. motor cycle they were riding and a stationary motor truc|k in the new North road on October 2!)th. A verdict of accidental death was returned in each case. “The speed of the motor cycle was ter rilic,” said Archibald Alfred Leman. “I think he was travelling - too fast to negotiate a dangerous bend such as there is at the point where the accident happened.” Witness also said that the force of the collision sent the motor truck forward.
