‘The engineer of the Eltham County [Council (Air. P. Afuggeridge) has in his possession several specimens of fossilised shells found 40 feet below the surface in metal pits at Omoua. The shells are of several varieties. Mr. Muggericlge states that there is a 20foot face of shellroek. Omona, it is interesting to note, is about 25 miles inland from Eltham, Some of the shells are extraordinaryly large.
