BOY CAPTURES BURGLAR.
Auckland, Nov. 4. A particularly smart capture of a man while lie was in the act of raiding the jeweller’s shop of H. W. Robinson, Khyber Pass road, at 8.30 on Saturday evening, was made by Jack Robinson, aged 17. Robinson jm\, was in the living quarters at the rear of the shop, when lie heard a sound of breaking glass. Rushing into the shop, he observed a man’s hand groping through a hole which had been smashed in the plate-glass window. He opened the front door and ran out and caught the man and held him in the doorway while his brother went for the police. 'Constable Norton arrived shortly afterward, and took the man into custody. The arrested man is 69 years of age, and is described as a fireman. He was charged at the Police 'Court yesterday with breaking and entering and stealing three watches, and was remanded until 10 th November. Bail was not applied for.
