Wellington, Last Night

Public accounts issued in a supplementary Gazette to-night disclose that the revenue for the past six months amounted to £9,057,880 compared with £10,109,347 Tor the corresponding period last war and the expenditure amounted to £12,237,407 compared with £.11,840,300 for the corresponding six months last year. The expenditure under the heading of permanent appropriations amonnled to £8,591,500 (compared with £8,1.57,534) and under annual appropriations £3,045,907 (compared with £3,088,700). These figures are identical with those contained in a statement made by Hon. E. A. Ransom during the second reading of the Appropriation Bill in the House of Representatives and telegraphed on October 24th and the acting-Primo Minister intimated to-night that a review of the position which lie made on that' occasion when it was pointed out; that the figures .were based on preliminary calculations applies to the present situation.
