Ephialles paid a sensational dividend at the Carterton Racing Club’s meeting last Saturday. It won the Trial Plate, the first race of the day by two lengths, with R. J. A ruckle, as rider. It was fifteenth favourite and there was only one ticket on it, purchased by Mr. C. W. Jensen, a well-known farmer of Carterton. The dividend was more than £SOO. During the day Mr A. P. Easton’s Coon Song won the Bunny Memorial Handicap.
