Rev. Father McDermott, of El~ tham, has been on a visit to Foxton.

■Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hunt, of Whittaker Street, returned to Foxton yesterday after spending a holiday at Lower Hutt.

Air. A. K. Drew, clerk of the Manawatu County .Council, is an inmate of a private hospital in Palmerston North.

Aliss E. Crowe, of Wellington, is at present spending a holiday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Crowe, of Norbiton Road.

Airs. Ferguson, of Rangataua, who has been spending a holiday with her mother, Airs. T. Hughes, of Lady’s Aide, has returned home, accompanied by her sister, Afiss Al. Hughes.

The six pupils of Aliss Amv Tapp, A.T.C.L., daughter of Rev. and Airs. E. Tapp, of Foxton, were all successful in gaining their Junior Passes in the recent Trinity College examination held at New Plymouth.

Word was received in Foxton this morning that Mr. A. BrookeTaylor Jhr., of Bainesse, had passed away. A short time ago deceased went to Auckland where lie underwent, a serious head operation. He was reported to have been making good progress towards recovery until yesterday when he took a sudden turn and passed away. The late Air. Brooke-Taylor was a member of the Foxton Racing Club and Foxton United Sports Association. He leaves a wife and grown-up family.
