MAORI WOMAN CHARGED. Hawera, October 27. As a sequel to the death of a sixfeen-month-old child named ITihi at Ketemarae Pa, Normanby, at 3.30 o’clock yesterday morning, a Maori woman named Makiri Kcrcona appeared in the Police Court to-(jay charged with assault. She was l remanded till November 3. It is alleged that owing to the child’s continual crying several Mows we re administered to its head, the infant dying ten minutes afterward.
