FOXTON UNITED SPORTS ASSOCIATION.
'COMMITTEE MEETING,
A committee meeting of the Foxton United Sports Association was held in the Racing Club office last evening, presided over by Mr. W. T. Jewell (president). Also present were Messrs It. Bryant, W. ltoss, D. Christie, 11. Hamer, W. Jewell junr., S. Austin, F. Woods, J. Barber, G. F. Smith, M. E. Perreau arid the secretary (Mr. J. L. Christie). Messrs H. E. Edmunds and E. V. West, of Palmerston North, wrote accepting the position of judges for the sports. Mi-. H. Barber (Rangiotu) was elected a new member.
Mr. M. E. Perreau was elected a member of the ground protection committee and deputed to take charge of the luncheon tickets. It was decided to ask Mr. A. Way, of Marton, to loan the Club a. starting board. Mr. J. Joseph’s amended tender for the lap board was accepted. 'Correspondence was received from Mr. P. Coleman (Wanganui) and B. Palmer (Palmerston N.), intimating that they would attend to the erection of signs advertising the meeting in their- respective centres.
'Che secretary reported that nominations were coming in freely. Twelve bad already been received and comprised some of the best known riders, including P. Coleman, T. Morgan, 0. Lundius, C. Wilkinson, Ross and Sid Morrison.
Various details in connection with the meeting- were discussed and routine business transacted.
