RETIRING AGE OF SCHOOL TEACHERS.
The Wanganui Education Board has adopted the following by-laws re the retiring age of teachers: “(1) All male teachers and male officers of the Board, who, on the date when this by-law comes into force, are of the age of sixty-five years, and all female teachers and female officers of the Board, who on such date are of the age of fifty-live years, shall forthwith retire from the service of the Board.
“(2) All other male teachers and male officers of the Board shall retire from the service of the Board on the thirty-first day of Januaryafter reaching the age of sixtyfive years, and all other female teachers and female officers of the Board shall retire from the service of the Board on the thirtyfirst day of January after reaching the age of fifty-five years. “(3) Provided always that for some special reason the Board may by a resolution passed /by a twothirds majority of the members present at a duly constituted meeting extend the age of retirement.’’
