GOLF

VISIT BY PALMERSTON PLAYERS. A number of players from the Palmerston North GoQf Club visited the Herrington links on Saturday and played some interesting games with local players. The visitors were welcomed by the local president (Mr. F. A. Alason) and in response hoped for a return match at Palmerston North before the season closed.

The following are the results of the games, Foxton players being named first: —

IC. Al. Hewett lost to T. Payne, E. Petersen beat A .Snell, L. C. Bryant beat A. W. Yortt, Tait lost to t\V. Gr. Ingham, Father Brennan beat P. S. Cope, iC. W, Pedersen lost to J. W. Rodden, R. Pedersen lost to S. J. Roberts, Rev. Walton halved with P. 0. Skoglund, Airs. Newton lost to E. W. Drew, E. W’igg beat R. AleAlurray, F. A. Alason lost to H. J. Rees, D. R. OgilVy lost to C. J. Hay, J. Newton beat F. C. Bryan, B. Gavan halved with B. J. O’Shea, Miss Neylon beat J. Danlks, Mss B. Robinson beat R. A. Tims.
