REVIEWS.
There is an inlen.sely amusing cover on the latest issue of Aussie—an excellent indication of the wealth of humour within. Aussie is humorous, because humour is one of the characteristics of X.Z. and Australia, but Aussie is many other tilings as well, also, for the same reason, ft is literary; it is artistic. There arc two pages of hook ■ reviews in each issue, one page of literary paragraphs, under the heading of Spilt Ink; two pages of stagery and several pages of routributions entirely for women, and vet Aussie is essentially a man’s magazine. Aussie by this 'mixture achieves something unique, that of being a magazine of general interest because it understands what most interests all people—exceptin'’-, of course; the gloomy people. The wonderfully popular weekly magazine Humour, is now almost ait institution in New Zealand. You see. it everywhere. Recent issues give a wonderful idea of the witticisms of the world’s best writers and artists. The two pages of. world’s cartoons is also a very interesting feature. Every week there is a joke competition in Humour and in this respect cash prizes arc offered.
