BLAZE IN WANGANUI.

iFire completely gutted a twostoried draper’s premises in Victoria Avenue, Wanganui, to-night, resulting in the loss of stock valued at over £4OOO.
The premises were occupied by Mr. Trevor Thomas, and the building owned by Mrs. C. J. Gateniby. The stocks of a chemist, Mr. A. MUPliail, in the same building, and Air. IT. J. Grieve, jeweller, in the adjoining building, were heavily damaged through water.
Tlie insurances for Mr. Thomas were £2500 on the stink and £SOO on iln> liftings, all in the • General Accident, "Five, and Life Assur-
ance Corporation. Insurance on tlii- building was for £1650 in the New Zealand Insurance Company, and or. the jeweller’s stock the insurances were £IO,OOO, divided between the New Zealand Insurance Company and the South British. On the chemist’s stock there was a cover of over £2OOO.
