FOXTON RACING CLUB
IMPROVEMENTS AT THE COURSE. The Foxton Racing- Club track is at present in very tine condition and should be in first-class order for the Chib’s next meeting. The caretaker (Mr. Simpson) is busy top dressing the course, portion of which has been fenced off and specially treated for the motor.sports. Fresh grass seed has also been sown on the track proper which by January should present an excellent sole. The appointments generally are in lip top order and the- caretaker is also giving attention to replanting and. extending the iiower beds on the lawn which were so fa* vourahly commented on during the last meeting. An inspection of the 'Chib’s tree planting activities shows a wonderful growth in the pin us insigiiis, niacrocarpu, and bluegum plantations which should prove of considerable value to the Club in years to come. Before next meeting the Club intends to metal the drive into the lawn, the. material for this work already being oil hand.
There are thirteen horses being trained on the local (rack at present and the excellent measure of success with which they arc meeting speaks well of the course as a 1 raining ground.
