GOLF

A match between members of the Manawnlu Golf Club and the Herrington Club was played on the local links on Saturday. The visitors won by six games to two. Following are the results (Manawafu players mentioned first) : T. Stubbs lost to M. B. Bergin, 3 up and 2 to play; H. A. Seifert beat E. Petersen, 2 up; N. Blackmore lost to C'. M. Hewetfc, 6 up and 5 to play; J. P. Stubbs beat W. Boss, 3 up and 2 to play; G. H. Lusk beat L. iC. Bryant, 5 up and 4 to play; A. M. Ongley beat A. P. Easton, (3 up and 5 to play; C. R. Moody beat Father Brennan, 1 up; 'CL Thomson beat C. Pedersen, 4 up and 3 to play. Mr. F. A. Mason (President) made the usual speech of welcome and expressed the hope that the visitors had enjoyed their visit equally as much as the local members had. Mr. A. M. Ongley replied on behalf of the visitors and said that the Manawatu Club would endeavour to arrange for Herrington Club to iplay on their links at a later date.

The Rangitikei Golf Club (Bulls) are playing a match at Boston on Saturday next, and the Levin Club ou the 13th.
