THE IMPERIAL CONFERENCE

NEW ZEALAND’S DELEGATION. New Zealand’s delegates at the Imperial Conference were announced by the Prime Minister, Hon. 0. IV. Forbes, on Thursday. The Dominion’s chief representative will be tire Prime Minister, who lias decided to take with him the AtforneyOeneral, Sir Thomas Sidev, who will act as adviser on legal questions. Sir Thomas will travel at his own expense as lie contemplated a health-recuperating trip abroad. At a meeting of the Executive Council presided over by -the Go-vernor-General, Lord Bledisloe, on Thursday, the Hon. R. Masters, M.L.C., was sworn in as a member without portfolio. He will fill the vacancy created through the death of Sir Joseph Ward, and he will also act as Leader of the Legislative Council during Sir Thomas Sidey’s absence. The Prime Minister will leave for England by the Aorangi which will depart from Auckland for Vancouver next Tuesday. In addition to Sir Thomas Sidey, the delegation will include:—

Mr. F. D. Thomson, 8.A., C.M.G., permanent head of the Prime Minister’s Department and Clerk of the Executive Council. iCr. C. A. Berendsen, L.L.M., Secretary of the External Affairs Department and Imperial Affairs Officer. Air. C. A. Jeffery, private secretary to the Prime Minister. Dr. G. Craig, C.M.G., Comptroller of Customs.
