YOUNG PEOPLES RALLY

On Friday evening a young people's rally was held in All Saints’ 'Church under the auspices of All Saints’ Bible (.’lass. The evening commenced with a well attended service at 7.30 p.ni. ill the Church, conducted by Rev. W. JL Walton. At the service seventeen girls and nine boys were admitted as members of the Bible Class Union of N.Z. Rev. Walton took the opportunity of welcoming those present including members' of the various denominations. In his address lie spoke of St. Paul’s words of advice to Timothy and in leiterenee to the Scriptures touched on the three phases: (Childhood, Youth and Manhood. The salvation of Timothy, said the speaker, lay in the care of his parents. In youth lay his opportunity for instruction while manhood was the age of sacrifice when ns a Christian he was called on to give up much of that which lie desired. » At the conclusion of the address Ihe members of the Bible Class admitted to the Union took a vow to read the Scriptures and he loyal to rlie Bible Class. They were 'then presented with badges and membership cards and at the conclusion of the ceremony an adjournment was made to the schoolroom where Mrs. Fry (Dominion President- of the Union) addressed the young women in all numbering about- seventy. After this a pleasant social time was spent. Revs. W. 11. Nicholas (Presbyterian) and R. Tapp (Methodist:-) acknowledged the welcome accorded (by lire Rev. Walton and congratulated the Church on the success of its Bible Class movement.

Mrs. Fry was accorded three hearty cheers fqr her able address. The remainder of the evening was spent in games, items and dancing-, Mr. E. Caple contributing humorous Brail reading and pianoforte solo. The music foil the dances was supplied by Miss A. Roore, and Messrs E. .Mattar, W. Harris and F. Caple. The supper arrangements were undertaken by the Bible Class.
