WATERWOR-K’.S RMPORT. The walenvork’s foreman (Mr. W. Neville) reported that during the month he had supervised relief Work on the reserves, including post split ting, fencinp, clearing noxious weeds and plant iny :*i(IO() trees. Durinp the month 2,17a,000 pnllons of water was pumped, the maximum enrienl used being- 20 amps.— Adopted. INV'R EA S INTI TIIP. <>VER DR A FT. The Clerk reported that, owing to the fact that the rate notices had been delayed owinp to the revaluation of the ho roup'll it would he necessary to increase the haul: overdraft. This was increased to £3,75(1. BOROITHT ESTIMATES. The estimates for the ensuing year were considered at length. The Clerk reported that as a result of the revaluation of the bnri ugh the values had dropped considerably. As a result the rules iliis year would increase from ]/- iasl year to 1/11 this year. The estimates were adopted and a formal resolution authorising- the striking of the rate was passed. It was decided to allow a 5 per cent, discount this year on all ratepaid by September .‘fiitli. Previously the discount has been 21 per cent.
