MAN KILLED; DRIVER ARRESTED. Wanganui, August 3. Harold Grevtown Rush, a married man with four children, was killed on Saturday evening when a. bicycle lie was riding collided with a service ear driven by Cyril Augustus McAllister. Later McAllister was arrested on a charge of being intoxicated while in charge of a motor ear. The late Air. Rush was a native of Palmerston North, and was a brother of AL'. Clias. S. Rush, formerly manager of the “Afanawatu Daily Times.” He was employed as head ganger by the Railway Department in Wanganui, where lm had been living for about six years. The accident happened in the vicinity of Pitt Street and Somme parade. Air. Rush was cyclinghome from the pictures at. about 11 p.m. when he was run into by McAllister, who was not a service car driver in the ordinary sense, but was employed bv one of the service linns in driving a taxi around Wanganui to pick up passengers. — e YOUNG WOMAN KILLED IN CHRISTCHURCH. Christchurch, August 3. Elizabeth Irvine, aged 24, was killed on the Rieearton road at 0.30 on Saturday evening by being knocked down by a passing motor ear. Aliss Irvine was riding a bicycle opposite St. James Church, Lower Kiccnrton, when a ear coming from behind her struck her. She died almost immediately. The driver of the car was E. C. Maun, farmer of Templeton.

KILLED ON GREAT SOUTH ROAD. Auckland, August 3. At ten o’clock last night a motor car driven by Robert John Burling, of Tauimminni crashed into a telegraph pole just after crossing the Takanini bridge on the Great South road. The body of the car was partially wrecked. The passenger Charles Simons, aged about 35, believed to be a singly man and a .jeweller of Tallinn muni, died from injuries a few minutes after the smash. The driver escaped with minor cuts.
