The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated 28th instant, from the
High Commissioner for New Zealand, London: —- Hemp:—'Manila market quiet Iml: more steady tone and values nominally unchanged. Sisal: —Market quiet and prices lower. Large unsold arrivals prosed for sale. No. 1 fair average, quality .liine-Augusl sliipnieid and Jiily-Soptenibor shipment sold as low as £24 10/-. No. 2, £23 15/-.
At the close sellers quote OeloberDoeoiuber and Novnmher-.lamiiiry shipment No. I fair average quality £25. Mexican co-operative have reduced prices equal to £25 18/0 c.i.f. New York, bill buyers consider 100 dear. New Zealand: —Market very quiet but no selling pressure. High fair and fair alloat. sold at £24. Stocks in London at. 31 si May, 00 Inns- against 55 tons same time last year.
