BEACH LANDING GROUND.
Had there been a hangar and a definitely defined landing ground at the local seaside it would have ser\od a useful purpose on Sunday. Mr. C. M. Duffy- left Rongotai aerodh'iiio, Wellington, during the afternoon for Tlawera in a Moth machine which Flight lieutenant Burrell recently brought up from the South Island but owing to adverse mnl strong winds it took him over two hours to reach Foxton. On reaching here he realised that he would lie unable to make Hawera that night owing to the stormy conditions and turned inland and made for Feilding where he spent the night, continuing his journey the following day. Had Mr. Duffy been able to fitid suitable accommodation for his machine he would undoubtedly have preferred to spend the night in Foxton on the direct route to his destination instead of having to' i levin ft* inland.
