PUNISHMENT OF SCHOOL GIRL.
Auckland, June 19. Tim Auckland Education Board, ■by 7 votes to 6, reversed its decision to abolish corporal punishment of girls. This had been made a recommendation by a deputation from the Auckland Teachers’ Institute. In future girls are not to be punished unless under exceptional circumstances, and then, if possible, by a female teacher.
