MOTOR CYCLIST INJURED.

WIDEN CYCLE SKIDS IN LOOSE METAL.

A mol nr cyclist named Elvidge, a resident of Hnnterville, and on his wav from Wellington to that town was injured as a result of his motor cycle skidding in some loose metal on the Eoxton-Levin road in Patrick- Street, just outside the Foxton borough boundary yesterday afternoon. TTc was brought into Eoxton by a passing motorist where he received attention from Dr. E. M. Wyllie, who found him to be snflering from concussion and head abrasions. Elvidge was later removed to the Palmerston North Hospital. The motorist who brought Elvidge into Eoxton stated that he was driving along the Eoxton-Levin road when he noticed the motor cyclist ahead of him. When opposite Mr. G. Cull’s residence the bike .-kidded and threw the rider heavily to the ground.

Mr. G. Cull stated that he was in Ids house shortly after 1 o'clock in the company of Mr. Wallbiilton when they hoard a crash. They inshad outside and discovered Elvidge lying on (he road alongside liis niolor cycle. The machine had evidently skidded in a heap of loose metal thrown up by the grader. Mr. Call took charge of the machine and Elvidge’s belongings and accompanied him to the doctor.
