AEROPLANE CRASHES.
IH LOT INJURED —PAN,SENDER SITCUAI.BX. Te Awamutu, Last Night. With a crash heard over a mile away a do Ilaviland Aloth machine owned by the Hamilton Airways crushed to earth near Te Awamutu landing ground at the racecourse at. 4.25 this afternoon. Two machines' were making passenger llighls during the day and it is understood this was the filial (light. i’ilot Saunders, of Auckland, is suffering from shock, severe cuts on the forehead and chin. His condition is not believed to be serious. The passenger, Alfred W. Min- < han, of Te Awamutu, suffered severe cuts on the chin, a compound fracture of the left, ankle and fractured skull. Alinehan died at 7 o’clock. liis age was 21. He was single and a carpenter. liis parents reside at Broad wood, Hokianga. Tie was completing his course of instruction and was practically ready for liis solo flight. He had expressed liis intention of proceeding to America to take up Hying professionally after gaining his New Zealand pilot’s license. He was prominent- in Waikato football circles.
