Ensign Smith, of' the local Salvnlioii Army Corp, was called away last week on account of her father being taken seriously ill. Airs Wallace and Air and Airs Jones, are leaving Foxton for Wellington. The Manawalii Hotel has been taken over by Mr M. O’Malley, .if Pie ton. The funeral of the late Air G. P. Walker took place mi Saturday afternoon and was conducted by the local Brethren Church. A number of beautiful wreaths were placed on the graveside as a. last tribute lo the memorv of deceased.
