RECORD OF DIXON CUP MATCHES.

One of the oldest and most interesting bowling trophies which is competed for by rinks under the .jurisdiction of the Mannwatu Bowling centre and from neighbouring districts is the Dixon Cup.' The presentation game for file trophy was played at Shannon on November 14, 1908, when the president’s rink-—J. Olsen, 0. Stevenson, 11. K. Knowles and W. 11. dunning (s) beat the vice-president’s rink —J. P. Roach, E. W. Stephenson, T. Lind and J. R. Stansell (s) —20—17. The following was the rink which represented Eoxlon Club in its first game for the trophy, in .February, 1!) 15: —F. D. Whiblov. J. MeColl, W. Nye, T. Rinimcr (s). Consecutive wins by different clubs in the competition have been as follow: 1911, Bedding 9; 1914, Olaki 0; 191 (i, Eeilding 7; 1917, Palmerston North 0; 1920, Palmerston North 7: 1924, Masterton 10 amt one drawn game; Woodville, 7; 1920, Eeilding 8; 1927, Eeilding 7; 1928, Woodville 10; 1929-30, Terrace End 12. In 1928, Woodville’s seventh game was drawn with Eeilding, 17 all. In the eleven games played Woodville scored 242 points, with 102 points against.

During 1020-30. Terrace End lias won 12 consecutive games, scoring 2S(I points, with 157 against. The first drawn game was played on the Terrace End green on April I, 1021, when the home club drew with Palmerston North, 17 all. Other drawn games have been: Northern v. Terrace End, 17 all (1!)22); Masterton v. Woodville, 17 all ( 1023); Mastertqn v. Pahiatua, 2tl all (11)2-4) : Feilding v. Manavvalu, Hi all (1020); Dannevirke v. Palmers ton North, IS ail (1928); Wofldviiie v. Feilding. 17 all (1928).

The lowest scoring game of the compel it ion was between Palmerston North and Feilding in 191(5, when the former club won 13—10. The highest scoring game was also in 191(5, when Feilding defeated Foxlon 50 —8. (FAMES PLAYED.
