FOLK BOOKMAKERS - CONVICTED, vv Wellington, Yesterday. Fines totalling £575 were imposed by Mr. E. Page, S.M., to-day, on tour men who pleaded guilty to beukmakiiig. They* were:— Harry Corner, aged 38, a barman, charged with using the private bar of the Carlton Hotel as a common gaming-house. He was lined £SO, in default two months’ imprisonment. Robert Henry Jones, who bad been previously convicted. He was now lined the* substantial sura of £3OO. Ralph Ellis Thompson, aged 50, .-.-Iso previously convicted. He was now lined £2OO. Edward George Munns, aged 50. He was lined £25. in default two months. The default in the eases of Jones and Thompson were fixed at three and two months respectively. A fifth man, Stanley William Findlay-, aged 41, elected to be fried by a jury, and was remanded to May 7tli on bail, j
