DOGGED BY MISFORTUNE.
REV. PRANK MCDONALD'S EXPERIENCES. The Poxton public will learn with feelings of sympathy of the misfortune which has fallen to the lot of the Rev. Prank McDonald, late Presbyterian minister of Poxlon. At Kaitangata at an early hour yesterday morning' the Presbyterian Manse, a building of ten rooms, of which he was the only occupant at the time, was completely gutted by lire. Mr McDonald barely bad time to snatch a few clothes and get out of the bouse, which was a .iging inferno. When the crash of falling material awoke him, the (lames were then all round him. ill-luck seems to have dogged Mr McDonald for the past few months. His wife died suddenly while on holiday in Christchurch and then after bis holidays his health broke down and he oniy resinned preaching on Sunday. Some time ago he lost everything in a fire, including a large and valuable collection of books. Mr McDonald went to Kaitangata from Pahiatua a year ago and his furniture was all new. The insurauees on his effects are not available.
