GOLF.

OPENING OF SHANNON LINKS. The Shannon Club opened the season on Saturday in delightful weather. Visitors were present from the Herrington and Levin Clubs. My. Biaekbuiju welcomed the visitors and MV. F. A. Mason (President of the Herrington Club) responded on behalf of the visitors and extended an invitation to those present to the opening of the local season on Saturday next. A Canadian foursome was indulged in. The fairway was in splendid order and everyone enjoyed the outing. The dainty afternoon tea was dispensed by the lady members.
