Mr. R. A. Johnston, of Manaia, was a visitor to Foxton over the week-end.
Misses F. and B. Robinson, of -Foxton, returned on Saturday from I Ins-tings.
Miss E. Owen returned to Wellington yesterday after spending a holiday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. Owen, of Foxton. Captain L. Haves, of the Marine Department, is again in Foxton in furtherance of his investigations in connection with the whitebait.
The speaker at Thursday’s Lunch t.Jiih will he Mr. McCute-heon, -of Wellington, director and chief engineer of the Wlesfern Electric Co.
The death is announced from Wianganui, of Mr. Thomas M. .'Copeland, aged 73, who was a wellknown athlete and volunteer firebrigadosmnn in the eighties.
Mr. T'yer, of Wellington, was a visitor to Foxton yesterday. Mrs. and Miss Tver will remain in Fox1, m for a tew weeks before reluming to the Empire City. At tlie Methodist Parsonage on Monday evening opportunity was taken at (lie farewell evening to Mr. and Mrs. Dorset to present Mr. Shanks with a wallet on behalf of Clmrcli members and congreg-ation iii appreciation of his kindness while filling the vacancy as minister of the Foxton charge. Mr. Shanks leaves next Monday to take up his new charge in Cromwell.
