Mrs. I. tCorn has returned home Horn a visit, to Napier. Mr. (i. I'orreuu is at present -pending a holiday with his parciils, Mr. and Airs. M. 12. Perreau. Inspector Hugo will inspect the local Volunteer Fire Brigade on Wednesday next. The friends of Mr. (1. P. Walker will regret to learn that he is at present an inmate of the Palmerston North Hospital. Mr. A. N. Smith, of Dunedin, formerly of T'oxton, and brother of Mr. (I. F. Smith of I his .town, was a visitor to Palmerston North on Thursday while eq route to Wliangarci on holiday. Air. Smith recently underwent an operation and is on a health recruiting trip. Miss 0. Me, Mas ter, who has been law clerk for the Wellington linn of Messrs Mazengarh, Hay and Macalislor for some years, is leaving by the Momma for America. She was presented with a. travelling dock, as a mark of appreciation by clients and friends who, wished her lam voyage and a safe return. Miss Ah .Master was for some years clerk i" the local legal /firm of Messrs Moore and Bergin.
