FOXTON SURF AND LIFE SAVING CLUB.

On Sunday the Foxton. Surf and Life Saving Club held a practice on tbc ocean beach when the team comprised the following members: —F. Burns (Captain), R. Reay, E. Aisop, G. Shaw, G. Smith, B. Gatin, B. Adams, J. Robertson, L. King, E. Morgan, A. Lawler, W. Hussey, T. Wish art, and B. Aieltou. Mr. S. Alitchell, son of Air. and Mrs. H. Alitchell, of Foxton, an instructor connected with the Island Bay Life Saving Patrol, was in Foxton during- the week end and gave the local patrol some valuable instruction in their work. Air. J. Linklater, who was at the seaside over the week end was an interested spectator at the practice and afterwards addressed the team and congratulated them on their performance and expressed his pleasure at seeing the members so interested in thoir work. The Patrol will give a demonstration on the ocean beach on Sunday week. This evening the usual weekly euchre party will be held in the Town Hall supper-room when a good attendance is expected. As usual good prizes have been secured and the competition for the aggregate prize will commence as from to-night. On Saturday the Club will hold a dance in the Alasonie Hall when a good time is promised all who attend.
