TRIBUTE TO TEACHERS.
“We are leaving Ihe district- in a most efficient condition,’’ said Senior Inspector Crawford at a farewell function tendered to three inspectors at Palmerston North yesterday. “1 do not think there is another district that has ever been more efficiently staffed. They are lrained teachers and they are capable ones, too. As a farewell message to the young teachers 1 would tell them to he enthusiastic over I heir teaching. Keep up enthusiasm, it keeps you young. Furthermore, there is no great difference between one pupil and another. The abnormal natural gifts are bestowed sparingly and genius is rare. Instil in pupils that they will gain success by work, persistent work, and you will send them info the world pupils who will make good citizens. They talk of primary inilustri —why teaching is I he. greatest primary industry in Ihe land.”
