BOY KILLED, FATHER
INJURED,

A boy of 9 years of age was killed and his father injured when a horse rolled over with them yesterday afternoon. John AictTae had taken his son Ronald with him when riding round his farm at IC'levedon. The horse slipped while climbing along the side of a hill in one of the paddoclks, and rolled over backwards onto the two riders. The boy received abdominal injuries, and All’. AlcCrae dislocated his hip. Both were brought to the Auckland Hospital, where the hoy died this morning.
YOUNG MAN KILLED INSTANTLY. Wanganui, March lti. A Masterton youth, Edward John Guntley, was killed at Maxwell, eight miles from here late last night. With two companions, Guntley was on a motor-cycle tour from his home town to New Plymouth. The trio readied Maxwell about 11.35 p.m., and .John Moore, an employee of Dominion Motors, Limited, Stratford, collided with Mr. Guntley. He was thrown from the cycle and instantly killed. Mr. Guntley was 19 years of age, and it is believed that his mother is a widow. She lives in Masterton. The names of his two companions have not been ascertained. Dr. Maurice Earle, and an ambulance, went from AVianganui to Alaxwell and brought the body of deceased to the morgue at Wanganui Hospital.
Cl )X T T KAC'i-0 R KILLED. Dunedin, Alareh 16. John Land, contractor, of Edie\alc, a single man about 45 years of age, was killed about 10 o’clock on Friday night as he was driving his motor-car from Millar’s Flat to Beaumont. After turning a sharp bend in themad near Rae's Junction School, the car ran oft' the road and fell about 50 feet into a creek. ■Air. and Mrs. Paul Cliilds, of Beaumont, who were in the ear, were injured and were removed to La wrence Hospital. Air. Land is believed to have no relatives in the Dominion.
HEAD-ON CRASH.
, Dunedin, Alareh 16. Two single women, Mavis Tyler, aged 21, and Violet Afoulin, were admitted to hospital yesterday suffering face and body abrasions. They were in different cars which —: met in a head-on collision on the Outram road.
MYSTERIOUS ACCIDENT
Auckland, March 16,
Louis Ramsbottom, a earner, living- at Wai‘kworth, was found dead beneath his lorry, which had overturned about 7 o’clock tonight. His neck was broken. What happened nobody can state at present. The accident occurred about one mile south of Wellsford, whence deceased had apparently been returning. A motorist c-ame upon the overturned lorry and then drove on until he met a pair of roadmen. To these he told what he had seen, and the three returned to the lorry, where they saw Ramabottom pinned. How long he had been there before the discovery is not known.
HIT iBY LIMITED
Auckland, March 16.
Hit by the cowcatcher of the Daylight Limited as it entered Otahuhn station at 8.12 this morning a Chinese market-gardener, Chung Don, aged 25, was thrown in the air, and fell among a bed of roses on the platform. He was taken to the Hospital, where he lies in a critical condition with tractured slkull. broken ankle, and internal injuries. Don, it is believed, left his cart by the overhead bridge and started to walk across the rails with a sack of peas on his hack. The driver of the Limited saw the man ami the train whistle shrieked a warning. The Chinese hesitated and stalled in walk back, but before he had cleared the tracks the cowcatcher caught him and dung' him and his vegetables in the air.
Doo Jay unconscious among the roses as, with a shrill grind of the brakes, the Limited pulled up in its own length. After the injured man had had attention from Dr. Ross, of Otai'uhu, the ambulance took him to the Auckland Hospital. His condition is reported to be critical. One man who saw the accident said that Doo should have seen the train coming, for he had a good view of the whole line, and the whistle blew continually as the train ran through the station. It is believed Doo is a married man, whose wife lives in China.
STRUCK BY TRAIN
Hamilton, March 15.
Erie Brazendale, aged 22, a mo-tor-cyclist, crashed into a train at Matangi level crossing this morning, and received injuries to his hack. He was admitted to hospital ir. a semi-conscious condition.
