The Minister of Health (Hon. A. •I. Stallworths) is to open the new Wilson Memorial Block at the Palmerston North Public Hospital oil Friday, May 2. Captain C. Larsen lias returned to Manawatu Heads from a health recruiting visit to the Wairarapa district after his recent serious illness and has resumed duty as pilot lo the Foxton Harbour Board.

At the Palmerston North Hospital Board meeting yesterday, the retirement on superannuation of Mr. F. Aislier, Charitable Aid ollieer, was announced. Mr. Aislier was granted three months’ leave >■■ll l'u 11 pay and eulogistic references were made to his long and faithful services. Mr. Bernard Chrystall, son of Mr. and Mrs. .1. Chrystall, of Lady's Mile, left for Auckland yesterday to enter the Theological College to complete his training- for the Methodist ministry. On Sunday he conducted the morning service in the local Methodist Church when the congregation was very favourably impressed with his sermon and delivery.

I'lie triemls ol' Mr. F. (Jarinont, will regret to learn that he was ‘•impelled to return to the Palmerston Worth Hospital again yesterday. Mr. Carmont was about town last week when it was thought that he was well on the road to recovery, hut he suffered a sudden relapse with the result that he decided to go hack to the hospital.

'Miss Ashby who has been on holiday in Dunedin has returned to Fox ton.
