PLUNKET ROOMS

FUND WITHIN £217 OF CON--1 TRACT PRICE.

In conversation with the hon. secretary (Mrs. Barron) of the local brunch of the Blanket Society, we are informed that a sum of £217 is required to bring the amount in hand (£402) to the total of the lowest tender for the building (£059). The section in Clyde St. has been donated free of cost to th« Society and an application for the £217 required to provide a permanent home for the Society’s work in Foxton has been made to the McCarthy Trust. The Society will not .know until the grants are considered whether the full amount asked for will be granted “but,” said Airs. Barron, “we are hoping for the best.”
